Foundation

To begin, you’ll learn the importance of personal standards, and what is expected of beauty professionals within the industry. You’ll discover the hygiene rules that need to be followed, how to prevent cross contamination, and sanitisation and sterilisation methods. Moving on, you’ll delve into the best ways to communicate with clients, how to build relationships, and how to deal with client dissatisfaction. Next, you’ll look at business promotion, considering how to price treatments, how to work within a salon, and what life as a self-employed beauty therapist is like. You’ll study how to prepare your work area before a treatment begins, as well as health and safety legislation. After that, you’ll take a look at the importance of insurance, how to gain it, and GDPR. You’ll consider ways to be effective at work, develop great relationships with colleagues, and how you might develop your career as a beauty professional. Finally, you’ll discover how to promote products and services, the importance of reception duties, and how to take payments from clients

NVQ Level 2

Anatomy & Physiology

You’ll study the anatomy and physiology of the body and its systems.

Facial & Skincare

You’ll discover the different types of products and their uses, and facial massage techniques. Lastly, you’ll learn the facial routine, including step-by-step instructions complete with diagrams and a training video.

NVQ Level 3

You’ll learn how any course works and is carried out as well as important health and safety points to consider. You’ll learn how to identify contraindications in clients, and how to prepare them for treatment. Moving on, you’ll consider special offers you could offer to help promote your business, and the products and equipment you’ll need in order to complete the treatment. Lastly, you’ll discover how to apply (which ever course you choose) correctly, and the aftercare advice you’ll need to give to your clients.

you’ll discover the benefits of each treatment/s, and how to complete a patch test and identify contraindications. You’ll learn the correct procedure to prepare for the treatment, and how to apply the chosen treatments. Finally, you’ll be walked through the correct aftercare advice to give your clients, to make sure their extensions last for as long as possible.

There are no formal entry requirements for this course, however, it is recommended that you have an intermediate ability to read and write English.
